Scallop shell earrings

These scallop earrings are made from one whole queen scallop which hace cut down the middle and sculpted each side to make them even. I use local scallop shells found on the beaches of lough Swilly in Donegal Ireland. They are put together using silver plated finding and wire.
The shells are 2" long approx.

Wool felted over the shoulder purse

This wee brown bag is light weight but durable due to the felting process. It was first hand knit using felting wool. This woodland inspired handbag is hand-knit with felted wool then after the felting method is then needle felted in an acorn and oak leaf design. A hand crafted wooden button is added for embellishment with a crocheted green strap.

oak buttons

These button are hand crafted from a fallen branch of a old local oak tree. instead of just rotting away this branch has got a new lease of life. the unique spalting patterns on these buttons are particularly nice because by chance a star shape has occurred in the centre.
perfect for a number of craft projects like scarves, books, hats, coats ect.

the 6 buttons are 1 inch wide aprox'. i use no stains or dyes, they are sealed with linseed oil to bring up the natural grain of the wood and sanded at least 6 times with a lair of shellac coating every time to achieve an ultra smooth satin finish.
